Crocs

Crocs are shoes that were at first designed as boating and outdoor shoes. Being very comfortable, light weight, waterproof and slip-resistant, they started to be worn at the beach, in operating rooms and for their therapeutic benefits also. There are true fans of crocs as well as people who disaproove them, but pros and cons can be found for pretty much everything. Croc shoes are made out of a foam resin, obtained using ethylene vinyl acetate.

The material they are made of is known as Croslite. There are podiatrists that consider them to offer medical benefits, especially due to the material they are made of. To be more clear, podiatry is a healthcare domain that is involved in studying and treating disorders of the lower extremity (foot, ankle, knee, leg, hip). People wearing crocs will find that they remove plantar pain and foot aches. Those who have foot injuries or bunions will also be pleased with them. Croc shoes offer good inner support, stability of each step and they present massaging heel nubs and absorb shocks.

Though doctors usually consider them to be very comfortable while at work, where they stand for hours, there are voices who claim that crocs may build up static electricity. In consequence they may interfere with electronic equipment present in hospitals. Croc shoes are usually light colored but they may come in black also. Since they usually have holes in them they allow ventilation to take place and they maintain one's feet cool in the summer. These holes also enable decorating crocs, using accessories that snap into them, called jibbitz. Found in a variety of styles, crocs are manufactured in China, Florida, Canada, Mexico, Romania and Italy.
